CNC Machinist - Richmond, BC
Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join their established manufacturing team with over six decades of expertise. This role is based in a state-of-the-art facility in Richmond, where the focus is on delivering top-tier manufacturing, repair, and rebuild services for projects across North America and internationally.
The CNC Machinist plays a key role in operating advanced DMG 5-axis CNC machines, contributing to the production of precision components for a diverse clientele, including small businesses, OEM suppliers, and industries like hydroelectric power and medical research.

Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate DMG 5-axis CNC machines to fabricate complex components with precision.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to ensure accurate production.
- Write and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software for efficient machining processes.
- Perform detailed quality inspections using precision measuring tools to verify component accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, making real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Document processes, measurements, and adjustments for quality control.
- Assist in training junior staff on machine operation and safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education or certification in machining is an asset.
- CNC Machinist Red Seal certification.
- Extensive experience operating CNC machines, with a focus on DMG 5-axis machines.
- Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software for CNC operations.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in heavy machining, fabrication, or precision manufacturing is preferred.
