We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Trauma Informed Therapist to join our dynamic, trauma-informed team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping individuals heal from past trauma and will be skilled in creating a safe and supportive therapeutic space for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide counselling/therapy sessions to clients, ensuring a client-centered approach that respects each person’s unique healing journey.
- Use trauma-informed techniques to help clients process and integrate traumatic memories, alleviating symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related issues.
- Work collaboratively with other therapists and team members to provide holistic care that meets the needs of each client.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
- Participate in team meetings and case consultations to ensure a cohesive approach to client care.
- Demonstrate cultural humility and empathy in all interactions with clients, fostering a space where they feel understood and supported.
- Promote a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology (M.A., M.S., PhD), or a related field.
- Must be a current member of one of the following professional orders Ordre des travailleurs sociaux du Québec (OTSTQ) for social workers, or Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) for psychologists or psychotherapists.
- Demonstrated experience and comfort with trauma-informed care, including an understanding of how trauma impacts the body and mind.
- Trained in at least one of the following: Somatic therapy, IFS, EMDR, EFT tapping
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect empathetically and effectively with diverse clients.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience working with clients in a therapeutic or counselling role is preferred.
