Sod Installation Foreman – Landscaping & Lawn Care (Ottawa)
Pay: CA$27.00-CA$35.00 per hour
Green Works Contracting is hiring an experienced Sod Installation Foreman to lead our lawn and landscaping crews.
$27–$35/hr | Full-Time | Immediate Start | Truck & Equipment Experience Required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise Crews: Direct and coordinate landscape crews to ensure projects are completed on time and to company standards.
- Project Management: Oversee and execute landscaping projects, ensuring proper techniques, safety, and efficiency.
- Site Preparation & Installation: Read and interpret site plans, prepare sites, and install softscapes, hardscapes, and irrigation systems.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including skid steers, excavators, and power tools.
- Quality Control: Conduct site inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
- Training & Mentorship: Guide and mentor crew members, helping them develop their skills and work effectively as a team.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all team members.
- Client Communication: Act as the point of contact for clients, addressing questions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Material & Resource Management: Track inventory, order necessary materials, and manage job site logistics.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in landscaping, hardscaping, or construction, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in landscaping or construction are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction, hardscaping, plant materials, and irrigation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, designs, and project specifications.
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 20' Trailer hauling experience.
- Proficiency in operating skid steers, mini excavators, and other landscaping equipment.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety protocols.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Work together with managers and project coordinators.
