The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) is seeking to fill one (1) full-time temporary role of Temporary Wellness & Child and Family Services Prevention Coordinator, responsible to deliver culturally grounded, family-centered wellness, addiction prevention, recovery, and prevention supports; focused on early intervention, strengthening protective factors, reducing CFS involvement, and working collaboratively with families, Elders, ACFN departments, and external partners to promote holistic community well-being. The position is local to Fort Chipewyan, AB.
One (1) year and with the possibility of an extension; 37.5 hours per week, and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The major qualifications include:
- Deliver culturally grounded prevention, education, and community-based initiatives to reduce alcohol, drug, and solvent misuse, including workshops, school-based programming, wellness campaigns, and community events.
- Provide early-intervention, family-centered, and outpatient counselling supports for individuals, families, and groups addressing addictions, trauma, grief, loss, family violence, and CFS risk factors.
- Coordinate treatment referrals, provide case management, aftercare and relapse-prevention supports, and facilitate follow-up counselling, outreach, and home visits. Other duties, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in Human Services (Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Addictions Counselling, or a related field) with addictions-specific training required. Certification or eligibility for certification through a recognized Canadian addictions certification body is considered an asset/preferred.
- Three to Five (3–5) years of experience working in addictions, mental health, or Indigenous community services preferred.
- Experience coordinating workshops, community programs, and counselling services.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence; and own or access to a reliable vehicle.
