Job Description:
Working within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation department, these are flexible positions whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. These positions will end March 31, 2027.
Reporting to the Sports Information Coordinator, the successful candidate(s) will film and capture game film for MRU on game nights. The camera operator(s) will be in charge of setting up DSLR camera on game nights. This position is a great opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience in the world of live sports broadcasting.
Pre-Game
- Setting up and testing camera equipment prior to game time
In-Game
- Operating cameras during games
- Troubleshooting any problems that may arise
Post-Game
- Equipment take down and return to Athletics office
- 12 - 18 months of related experience
- MRU students enrolled in the broadcasting or journalism program (preferred)
- Understanding of basketball, hockey, soccer and/or volleyball an asset
- Experience in live broadcast production would be an asset
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and with a team with minimal supervision
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
Salary: $15.45 - $19.44 per hour
