About the Role
At LightArt Labs, we are developing a medical device that relies on a production-grade computer vision image classification pipeline. We have already completed model exploration and selected a strong baseline architecture. The remaining work is to close the gap to production readiness by improving model performance, robustness, and efficiency, while tightening evaluation discipline and delivery quality.
The Research Associate will participate in research activities and perform a number of tasks related to the ongoing research in the diagnostic field. You will collaborate closely with our medical/biological team and engineering, and you must be able to deliver results under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- To plan and execute experiments assigned by scientists
- To perform sample processing and relevant downstream assays
- Follow established protocols to perform manual or automated sample processing of different blood sample types
- Follow established protocols to handle CL2 microorganisms
- To support the Engineering team for validation and troubleshooting during product integration
- Maintain operation records and other relevant activities
- Timely submission of requested results and analysis
- Ensure lab cleanliness according to established lab cleaning schedule/procedure
- Working autonomously on specific issues of a project defined by department management
- Supporting senior colleagues on multiple projects with high technical skills
- Performance tasks with minimal supervision
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in microbiology and clinical microbiology laboratory procedures and instruments
- Master’s degree with specialization in microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, biology or similar life sciences specialty
- Independent troubleshooting of microbiology experiments
- Multi-task various projects/timelines at one specific time
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team work approach
Strong Assets (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with antimicrobial resistance and related diagnosis tests
- Hands-on experience with antimicrobial susceptibility testing
