Position Summary
True Coat Paint Co. is looking for a detail-oriented Paint Prep-er to ensure all residential and commercial surfaces are perfectly prepared for coating application. You are responsible for the foundational work—sanding, cleaning, and repairing walls, ceilings, and trim—to guarantee the high-quality, durable finish our "Reliable Crew" is known for.
The "Zero-Trace" Standard
We maintain a clean work environment as if we were never there. You are the first line of defense in protecting our clients' properties:
- Site Protection: Expertly masking off areas, applying painter's tape, and placing drop cloths to protect floors, furniture, and fixtures.
- Spotless Cleanup: Ensuring the site is kept orderly throughout the day and performing a thorough daily cleanup.
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, scrape, and remove old paint or wallpaper from walls, trim, and ceilings.
- Repairs: Fill nail holes, cracks, joints, and other imperfections using putty, plaster, or caulking.
- Priming: Apply primer to surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and uniform topcoat application.
- Tool Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools such as brushes, rollers, sanders, and spray equipment.
- Safety & Logistics: Adhere to safety guidelines and use a mobile device to track/log work hours and site locations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid MB Class 5 Driver’s License (Required for site-to-site travel).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work confidently on ladders or scaffolding.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, painting, or surface preparation is an asset.
- Technical: Ability to use hand and power tools (sanders, scrapers, heat guns).
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail and a "client-first" professional attitude.
Compensation & Perks
- Pay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour (Based on experience).
