Hi and welcome! We are so glad you are here.
We are Sarah Harris & Nicole Fakaua, directors of Relate & Restore Counselling, an emerging and successful private clinical counselling practice with two locations: Kelowna, BC and Vernon, BC!
Alongside our roles as clinical counsellors and supervisors, we are also good friends, mothers, and lifelong learners. As the need for effective mental health care continues to grow, our hope is to nurture a team of culturally competent and trauma informed therapists through our collaborative and supportive work environment. Guided by attachment science, our mission is to provide a safe and secure space to allow each of our team members to meet their professional goals and flourish as therapists.
When we each started our own private counselling practices, we were drawn to the freedom to work in a way that reflected our values and build meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients. We also discovered how much time and energy running a business requires beyond the counselling room. Relate & Restore Counselling was created because we believed private practice could feel different. We wanted to create a place where counsellors could enjoy the independence of running their own practice while also experiencing genuine community, practical support, and shared growth.
We don't employ clinicians - we support and work alongside independent contractor practitioners. Our role is to remove as much of the operational and administrative burden as possible so you can focus on providing exceptional care while building a sustainable business of your own.
We are offering an innovative and incentivized fixed fee compensation structure - in keeping with our values and belief that "together we are stronger".
Why We Chose a Different Model
Traditional percentage-split models often mean the more successful your practice becomes, the more you pay. We wanted a model that rewards growth instead. Our fixed-fee structure is designed to provide transparency, predictable business expenses, and increasing earning potential as your caseload grows. Rather than quietly limiting your income, your effective overhead decreases over time while you continue to receive the same level of support.
What You Can Expect
- Run your own independent private practice, with autonomy over your caseload, schedule and clinical approach.
- Beautiful, fully equipped counselling space ready for immediate use.
- Administrative support, systems, website presence and operational infrastructure.
- Referrals, peer consultation, mentorship and collaborative professional relationships.
- Access to shared resources and opportunities to contribute to community initiatives.
- Transparent fixed-fee pricing with no percentage split.
Who This Model Is For
This model is well suited to counsellors who value both independence and community, want to build a long-term private counselling practice, appreciate teamwork without sacrificing autonomy, and believe investing in strong systems creates lasting professional and financial sustainability for their own business. The fixed fee includes access to our office space(s), so it is best suited for those able to provide hybrid session availability (both online and in person).
Who It May Not Suit
If you are simply looking to rent an office occasionally, have little interest in learning to build your own caseload, plan to establish your own separate clinic in the near future, or prefer a highly independent arrangement with minimal team support, our model may not be the best fit. If you are not within reliable commuting distance from our Kelowna or Vernon office(s), this may not be ideal for you.
Full-Time & Part-Time Pathways
We offer both full-time and part-time options to meet clinicians at different stages of their private practice journey. Both pathways include affordable access to our community, administrative infrastructure and professional support, while allowing flexibility to build your own practice at a sustainable pace.
The Kind of Team We Are Building
We believe great clinical work grows in environments where people feel supported, respected and connected. We celebrate one another's successes, offer help during challenges, and value authenticity, curiosity and kindness as much as professional excellence.
