The Rolling Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining rolling machine to produce metal components according to precise specifications. The operator will ensure that the machine is running efficiently, safely, and producing quality products. This role requires technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation:
- Prepare the rolling machine for production runs by selecting and positioning appropriate dies, rollers, and other tools.
- Program the machine control panel with the necessary settings for specific rolling tasks, including material type, thickness, and required dimensions.
- Load materials onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and securing them for accurate rolling.
- Monitoring and Quality Control:
- Monitor the rolling process to ensure consistent and accurate production according to the job specifications.
- Perform regular checks on the finished products to verify dimensions and quality, making adjustments to the machine settings as needed.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the rolling process, such as misalignment, material jams, or variations in product quality.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Perform routine maintenance on the rolling machine, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of parts for wear and tear.
- Report any mechanical or technical issues to the maintenance team and assist with repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety devices on the machine are functioning properly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including materials used, output, and any issues encountered.
- Complete daily logs and report production data to the production supervisor.
- Provide feedback on machine performance and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience operating rolling machines, specifically the DAVI MCB E20 or similar equipment, is highly preferred.
- Experience in metal forming, brake forming an asset.
- Basic understanding of metalworking and manufacturing processes.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and programming the rolling machine.
- Experience in metal forming, brake forming, and welding an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiarity with machine tools, gauges, and other measurement equipment.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 lbs.]) safely.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Other Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in machine operation or a related field.
- Knowledge of CNC programming.
- Experience with preventive maintenance procedures for industrial machinery.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
