Job Overview:
As a Picker/Packer for our home improvement store, you will be responsible for packing and preparing products for shipment or customer pick-up, ensuring orders are accurate, properly packaged, and ready for delivery. You will work closely with the warehouse and sales teams to fulfill customer orders efficiently and maintain high standards of packaging and handling.
Responsibilities:
Order Picking:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves, bins, pallet racking, and outdoor lumber yards based on pick tickets, customer orders, or online fulfillment requests.
- Select products including lumber, drywall, insulation, paint, power tools, hand tools, hardware (nails, screws, bolts), electrical supplies, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and garden materials.
Order Packing:
- Pack orders securely using appropriate materials to prevent damage during transit or customer pickup.
- Use bubble wrap, foam inserts, shrink wrap, corner protectors, straps, and sturdy boxes to secure products.
Receiving & Put-Away:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments of home improvement products.
- Verify received quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Label and store received items in designated warehouse locations following bin location systems.
Qualifications:
Ability to ensure accuracy when packing and labeling orders, catching any discrepancies.
Strong ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain an organized workspace and keep track of multiple orders and shipments.
Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
Pay: $21.84-$25.76 per hour
