The Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with shippers and manufacturers, and securing profitable transportation and logistics accounts.
This is a hunter-style sales position for someone who is comfortable making calls, prospecting, building relationships, and closing new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new customers within the transportation and logistics industry
- Identify manufacturers, distributors, construction companies, steel companies, building-material suppliers, and other businesses with recurring freight needs
- Make outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to potential customers
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and decision-makers
- Obtain new transportation contracts and recurring freight lanes
- Quote and negotiate freight rates while maintaining company margins
- Work closely with dispatch and operations to ensure customer requirements are met
- Grow existing customer accounts through additional lanes and services
- Track sales activity, opportunities, quotes, and follow-ups
- Monitor market conditions and competitor pricing
- Attend customer meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities when required
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information in the company's CRM/TMS
- Work toward monthly and annual sales and revenue targets
Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of transportation/logistics sales experience preferred
- Existing relationships with shippers and freight decision-makers is a strong asset
- Experience selling flatbed, specialized, Moffett, LTL, or truckload transportation is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of Canadian transportation markets
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Confident making cold calls and developing new accounts
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to understand freight requirements and develop transportation solutions
- Professional and customer-focused
- Bilingual English/French is an asset, particularly for Quebec-focused sales

Compensation
Base Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Commission: Performance-based, with significant earning potential

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
