Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join our dynamic supply chain and procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services necessary for manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement strategies, ERP systems, and supply chain management to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and support lean manufacturing initiatives. The Senior Buyer will collaborate closely with suppliers, production teams, and internal stakeholders to meet operational demands efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals and lean manufacturing principles.
- Manage procurement activities using SAP, MRP, ERP systems, and other procurement tools to ensure accurate demand planning and inventory control.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with production planners to forecast material requirements based on demand planning data.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in line with lean manufacturing principles.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior procurement staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong familiarity with SAP, MRP systems, ERP platforms, and demand planning tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and supply chain optimization strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of establishing favorable supplier agreements.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on supply chain metrics.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and with external suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $70,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
