Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Estimator with HVAC experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately estimating project costs and ensuring that all aspects of construction projects are accounted for. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in estimating software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to determine project pricing.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve the best possible outcomes for projects.
- Review and adjust estimates as necessary based on changes in project scope or specifications.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and correspondence related to each project.
Experience
- Proven experience in HVAC and construction estimating with a strong understanding of the construction process.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful price negotiations.
- Experience in project management is a plus, providing insight into overall project execution.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- Must have solid computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of tender preparation
- Experience using estimating software for piping and ductwork
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
