Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Transport Truck Parts Counter Person to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers, managing parts inventory, and assisting with sales and order fulfillment in a fast-paced dealership environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, truck and equipment knowledge, and experience in retail or parts sale. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work within a dynamic truck and heavy equioment parts department dedicated to supporting transportation and logistics needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct truck parts and accessories, ensuring accurate order fulfillment
- Manage parts inventory, including stocking, organizing, and maintaining parts displays
- Utilize POS systems to process sales transactions efficiently and accurately
- Handle cashing out customers, including cash handling and receipt issuance
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering technical advice, and resolving issues promptly
- Maintain organized workstations and ensure the cleanliness of the parts counter area
- Collaborate with service technicians and other departments to facilitate timely parts delivery
- Use Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking, ordering supplies, and reporting as needed
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone etiquette and in-person interactions
- Support marketing efforts by promoting available products and services to increase sales opportunities
- Keep up-to-date with automotive repair procedures, maintenance requirements, and industry trends
Experience
- Previous dealership experience or retail sales background preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, CMMS software, or similar inventory management tools is advantageous
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and parts is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for negotiation, customer service, and team collaboration
- Experience in sales management or marketing within an automotive setting is beneficial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic math skills for order processing and inventory management
