The Warehouse Lead Hand supports day‑to‑day warehouse operations by leading staff, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent adherence to Bunzl Daily Best Practices and procedures.
- Conduct cycle counts, activity walks, and empty-bin walks daily.
- Meet Bunzl Standard KPI Goals. (Hiring Manager to Elaborate)
- Support accurate and timely order assembly and shipment preparation.
- Optimize cube utilization on delivery vehicles to reduce operating costs.
- Maintain a professional and collaborative working environment.
- Promote a safe workplace and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor operational performance and support employees in meeting productivity and accuracy targets.
- Assist with receiving, picking, and general warehouse functions as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience required.
- 1–3 years of warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of WMS systems, OHSA regulations, and transportation regulations.
- Strong judgment, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to safely lift up to 25kg to 55+ lbs. on a regular basis and work at heights of up to 26 feet.
- Experience with order pickers, counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, and pump trucks.
- Ability to work safely in accordance with company safety policies and applicable occupational health and safety legislation.
