Where The Wild Things Grow Early Learning Centre Ltd. is located in Lethbridge Alberta. We have two facilities, one in south Lethbridge and one in West Lethbridge. We offer a fun, and safe environment for children to learn and grow. We recognize and implement best practice techniques with trained and qualified educators. Our Centre is dedicated to play based programming that purposefully involves hands-on experiences while following best practices, children's interests, and current research. The first years for your child are important in creating a foundation for future learning and social relationships with benefits that last a lifetime. We are a small Centre with a capacity of 50 children and 9 Staff. We opened our West location in August of 2020. We have had the opportunity to slowly build our team of talented, qualified Early Childhood Educators. We are currently looking to add one more to our team!
Job description
The position will be a full time permanent position in our 3 - 4 class. The position wage will depend on the applicant’s certification. Child development workers and supervisors are welcome to apply. We are a licensed program so top up will depend on level of certification. The shift will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch break.
This position requires someone warm, nurturing, who is a flexible, professional and genuinely enjoys working with children and families. We need someone dependable who doesn’t need a lot of time off or take many sick days. Applicants must be willing to follow Licensing Regulations at all times, Health Standards and Fire Safety Standards. We are located at 250 McMaster Blvd West Lethbridge, near Nicholas Sheran Park.
Primary Responsibilities
· Following a daily schedule
· Planning daily and weekly play experiences for the children
· Actively engage in activities with children
· Providing for the necessary needs of the children
· Maintain program philosophy and policies
· Ensure safety of all children
· Communicating with other staff member and parents
· Diaper and toilet training

Qualifications
Applicants must have or be willing to obtain:
· A Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search Dated within 6 Months of Your Application.
· Intervention Record Check
· Child Care Certification
· First Aid.
