A newly constructed condominium community near downtown Halifax is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Live-In Superintendent. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in the day-to-day operations of a modern residential building while enjoying the convenience of living onsite in a well-appointed unit.
About the Role
The Live-In Superintendent will ensure the building remains clean, safe, and well-maintained, and that residents receive prompt, professional support. As the first point of contact for building concerns, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining a welcoming, well‑run community.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and upkeep of common areas (lobby, hallways, elevators, amenity spaces)
- Routine inspections of building systems and property grounds
- Perform minor repairs and coordinate with trades for larger maintenance needs
- Address resident inquiries and concerns in a timely, courteous manner
- Manage move-ins/move-outs and oversee building access
- Monitor and enforce building rules to ensure safety and compliance
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as required
- Work closely with the Property Manager to support smooth building operations
Qualifications
- Previous superintendent, building maintenance, or property management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of basic building systems and minor repair work
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Organized, reliable, and self-directed
- Ability to respond to emergencies and handle on-call duties
- Professional, friendly, and respectful when interacting with residents and contractors
