Integrated Rehab is seeking an experienced Therapy Assistant to join our growing team. We are a privately owned occupational therapy and counselling practice providing community-based assessment and rehabilitation services in Calgary and surrounding areas.
Our team works with individuals experiencing complex barriers to independence, everyday activities, community participation and meaningful work. Our clients have a wide range of functional abilities and rehabilitation needs, and may be experiencing:
- Traumatic Brain Injury and stroke
- Mental health diagnoses
- Post-concussion symptoms
- Chronic pain and fatigue
- Neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism
- Cognitive and functional limitations
- Functional neurological conditions
- Challenges with community reintegration and independence
- Barriers to returning to work or meaningful activity
The Therapy Assistant works under the assignment and direction of an Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans. Sessions are functionally focused and may occur in our Calgary clinic, clients' homes, workplaces or community settings.
This position is well suited to someone who is confident working independently, demonstrates good judgement and practical problem-solving skills, and is able to adapt to different clients and environments while recognizing when direction from the supervising Occupational Therapist is required.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide individual therapy sessions under the assignment and direction of an Occupational Therapist
- Implement established treatment plans addressing functional, cognitive, physical, psychosocial and vocational goals
- Support clients with functional activation, development of routines and increased participation in everyday activities
- Facilitate community-based activities to develop independence, confidence and functional skills
- Support clients in implementing strategies for attention, memory, organization, planning and task completion
- Assist with graded exposure, community reintegration and development of activity tolerance
- Support work simulation, vocational rehabilitation and graduated return-to-work activities as assigned
- Observe client performance and identify progress, barriers, changes or concerns
- Use judgement and problem-solving skills to respond to situations which arise during sessions while remaining within the established treatment plan and scope of the Therapy Assistant role
- Communicate verbal and written treatment updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Complete timely, concise and objective documentation
- Collaborate professionally with clients, families and members of the rehabilitation team
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality and client safety
Qualifications
- Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physical Therapist Assistant or comparable program
- Equivalent education and relevant rehabilitation experience may be considered
- Minimum two years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, stroke, mental health diagnoses, cognitive challenges or other complex rehabilitation needs considered an asset
- Individual professional liability insurance
- Valid Alberta driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 35.0 per week
