At TTEC Digital, we coach clients to ensure their employees feel valued, and fully supported, because an amazing customer experience is an employee first process. Our vision is the same, a place where employees know they can thrive.
TTEC Digital seeks a Director of Engineering to join our team. This role is a full-time and fully remote opportunity!
We’re an innovation group inside TTEC (NASDAQ: TTEC), building the next generation of AI CX tools — automated QA, conversational analytics, knowledge assist, and agentic automation — for the world’s biggest brands and the millions of customers they serve. We move like an early-stage startup, backed by the scale, distribution, and enterprise client base of a company that’s been obsessed with customer experience since 1982.
This is the rare seat where getting in early actually matters at scale. TTEC is a public company at an AI inflection point. Ship the right products into thousands of live enterprise deployments and you don’t just move a metric — you move the trajectory of the company and the value of the stock. The leverage is real, and the work compounds.
Want to learn, love new technology. This platform is built on the latest technology, and that technology changes and advances monthly. You adapt to change quickly — new tools, new models, new priorities — without drama.
AI-native. You work with AI on all levels — you understand the technology around you (LLMs, SLMs, RAG, knowledge graphs, agents, training, eval) and you use AI tools daily to exponentially increase your velocity.
No one will have everything in this description. We're looking for well-rounded, smart people who move fast.
The role:
- Run the engineering org day-to-day, reporting to the engineering leader. This is a fast-moving train — real timelines, real customers, working software demoed every Friday.
- You own delivery across all squads, the hiring pipeline, and the standards that keep a senior-IC team shipping fast without ceremony.
- This is not a body shop and you don't run it like one: it's a startup environment inside a bigger company, and the plan will change under you — new tech, new priorities, new customer asks. You absorb the change, re-plan in hours not weeks, and keep the train moving.
What you'll own:
- Delivery — timelines and quality, both, no trade-off allowed to hide weekly
- Friday demos of working software (show-me culture: if it doesn't run, it didn't happen)
- Tech-lead and squad performance
- Hiring (you personally own the funnel and the bar)
- Translating business requirements into technical scope the squads can build
- Cross-squad dependencies and the engineering operating rhythm ·
- Escalation path for blocked work — you move it, not track it.
Who you are.
- A delivery persona with a show-me mentality.
- You trust demos, not status decks. A self-starter with grit who has run fast trains before and likes winning.
- You've kept the respect of very senior engineers because you're still technically credible in the room.
- You challenge an architecture, and they listen.
- You use AI tools yourself, daily, and expect the org to use them to multiply velocity.
Strong working knowledge of the modern AI stack — LLMs, SLMs, RAG, knowledge graphs, agents, fine-tuning/training, eval. Not a researcher, but you can engage on all of it, make build-vs-buy calls, and smell a bad AI design.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
