We are currently accepting applications for a Network Support IT Technician. Responsible to the Manager of Computing Infrastructure, based out of our Office in Edmonton, your core responsibilities will focus on end-user support, wireless, software and hardware management for our various locations. As a Network Support IT Technician with a strong cybersecurity focus, you will be responsible for protecting the organization’s information systems and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of technology resources. You will manage, maintain, and continuously improve endpoint protection and security platforms, including anti‑virus, anti‑spam, and anti‑spyware solutions, while actively monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats and incidents.
This role also involves installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting all IT hardware and software, as well as establishing and maintaining accurate software and hardware inventories, including Microsoft 365 environments. You will work closely with internal teams to enforce security best practices, apply patches and updates, and support compliance with organizational security policies
We are looking for a Network Support IT Technician who has demonstrated the competence to triage, diagnose and repair computer systems remotely, and in-person. Our ideal candidate has a reputation for maintaining a high degree of end-user support in a professional manner. Preference will be given to applicants possessing a post secondary education in Computer Technology with Networking or IT Systems Management and Security.
The successful applicant will also possess:
· Ability to troubleshoot and support network, software, and hardware issues proficiently
· Experienced in Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, LAPS and Group Policies
· Microsoft 365 and Microsoft SQL administration experience is an asset
· Firewall, Switches, Wireless Access Points, VPN experience is an asset
· Effective communication, organizational and time management skills
