Make a Difference While Building Your Career
Are you an energetic student or community-minded individual looking to gain valuable professional experience while making a meaningful, tangible impact?
BreastCancerLifelong.org is launching a Paid Volunteer Program to help expand our network of lifelong care and support. We are seeking passionate, outgoing, and motivated individuals to drive our outreach, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives leading up to our 2026 Gala and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity for students, recent graduates, and individuals interested in non-profit leadership, healthcare, public relations, fundraising, communications, and community development.
About BreastCancerLifelong.org
At BreastCancerLifelong.org, we know that a breast cancer diagnosis changes everything—and the need for support doesn't end when treatment does. We are dedicated to providing continuous, lifelong assistance by placing patients and their families at the center of everything we do.
Our programs focus on real, tangible impact: easing the financial toxicity of out-of-pocket costs, funding transportation to treatments, subsidizing childcare during scans, providing essential comfort kits, and driving forward innovative research. As we prepare for our 2026 Gala, we are expanding our outreach team to engage local communities, raise vital awareness, attract corporate sponsors, recruit passionate volunteers, and support fundraising efforts that directly fund the everyday needs of breast cancer patients and survivors.
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Outreach & Fundraising Ambassador, you will:
- Represent BreastCancerLifelong.org professionally within the community.
- Promote our mission, support programs, and upcoming fundraising events.
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, community groups, and allied organizations.
- Assist with direct fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies.
- Recruit dedicated volunteers and event participants.
- Support sponsorship outreach and the development of in-kind partnerships.
- Amplify campaigns through social media and community networking.
- Participate in community events, information booths, and breast cancer awareness initiatives.
- Help organize and support the 2026 Gala and other key fundraising events.
- Inspire others to actively support individuals and families navigating breast cancer.
Qualifications
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and confident communicating with others.
- Deeply passionate about helping their community and advocating for patient care.
- Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and organized.
- Comfortable speaking with individuals, local business owners, and corporate partners.
- Active on social media (an asset for digital outreach).
- Interested in fundraising, marketing, public relations, healthcare, non-profit work, or event planning.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
> Note: No previous fundraising experience is required—we provide full training and ongoing mentorship. Students from all disciplines are highly encouraged to apply.
