On-Call Early Childhood Educator (20–40 Hours/Week) – July & August

At Precious Sprouts Childcare Center, we believe in providing a high-quality childcare program in a safe, nurturing environment that promotes learning through play.
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated On-Call Early Childhood Educator to join our team for the months of July and August. This position offers approximately 20–40 hours per week, depending on staffing needs and program requirements.
The regular shift for this position is 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the flexibility to work full 8-hour shifts when additional staff coverage is required due to vacations, illness, appointments, or other operational needs.
We are seeking an educator who understands programming, maintains proper ratios, ensures active supervision, and creates a safe and engaging environment for children. Experience working with children with special needs, including ADHD, ODD, and Autism, is an asset.
Above all, the successful candidate must have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and co-educators.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality care and supervision for children ages 12 months to 12 years.
- Maintain proper staff-to-child ratios and active supervision at all times.
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate programming and activities.
- Support children with diverse developmental, behavioral, and learning needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Assist with outdoor play, field trips, and summer activities.
- Work collaboratively with educators, children, and families.
Qualifications
- Child Care Certification Level 1, 2 or Level 3.
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree is an asset.
- Current CPR Level C and First Aid Certification.
- Experience working in a childcare or out-of-school care setting.
- Experience supporting children with special needs and behavioral challenges is an asset.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Successful Candidates Must Provide
- A current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- A Child Welfare Intervention Record Check.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
