Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Investor Relations Analyst based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Vice President, Investor Relations, the incumbent in this role will support the execution of the Company’s IR strategy to align with the organizational goals, including contributing to consistent, transparent and effective two-way communication with the investment community (including analysts, institutions, bondholders, individual investors and other stakeholders) and Saturn Leadership. This role requires a foundation of experience with the capital markets; a firm understanding of corporate valuations and the methodologies used for modeling; strong written and verbal communications skills; base experience within the energy sector; and a self-driving approach. The IR Analyst role supports the fulfillment of continuous disclosure obligations while also elevating the Company's market position and engagement.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Disclosure & Market Communications Support: Assist in drafting/editing news releases; financial reporting support; drafting conference call scripts, investor presentations, investor newsletters and other messaging; and respond to inbound queries as needed.
- Financial Reporting + Continuous Disclosure Compliance: setting up news releases and ensuring associated SEDAR+ filing; coordinating earnings calls; coordinating AGMs; and preparing filing documents for submission.
- Market & Peer Intelligence: Track sell‑side research, price/volume drivers, ownership changes, and conduct peer benchmarking.
- Misc. Communications Support: Media relations and outreach; assist with regular updating/formatting/development of Saturn’s powerpoint presentation to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders; collaborate with VP IR on crisis communication planning & preparation.
- Financial Analysis: Build and maintain light financial models/tables to support guidance narratives and ad‑hoc analysis and conduct quarterly analyst consensus surveys to track street estimates.
- IR Calendar & Events: Coordinate investor conferences, meetings, non-deal roadshows, employee townhalls, and site visits.
- IR Infrastructure: Maintain the IR website, CRM, and social media platforms.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Produce monthly market reports, including ownership summaries for executive and the board.
- Shareholder Targeting & Investor Base Expansion: Conduct structured targeting to identify and prioritize prospective institutional and retail investors.
- Process Excellence: Support disclosure coordination and stringent disclosure controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in investor relations, capital markets, or financial communications, with strong knowledge of the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry fundamentals, including key financial and operational metrics.
- Strong communication skills and advanced Excel/PowerPoint; experience with investor relations / website platforms such as IRWIN, InfoSuite and WordPress is a plus.
- Familiarity with public‑company reporting cycles and disclosure requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial and operational concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to develop relationships internally and externally; ability to take direction and produce quality work in a limited timeframe.
- High attention to detail, ability to organize, manage time, and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
