Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Superintendent to oversee construction projects in Burlington. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams and subcontractors effectively. The Temporary Superintendent will play a critical role in delivering successful construction projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow
- Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to stay on schedule
- Oversee quality control processes to meet industry standards and client expectations
- Manage safety protocols and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents accurately
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, and Primavera P6 for project tracking and documentation
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and construction estimating tasks
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and safety standards are maintained
- Prepare reports on project status, issues, and risks for stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of construction management practices
- Proficiency with construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and other relevant tools
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction estimates effectively
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and safety regulations (OSHA compliance)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating teams and reporting progress
- Construction estimating experience is preferred
- Familiarity with budgeting processes within large-scale projects is desirable
- Construction management certification or equivalent experience is a plus
