What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage a variety of litigation matters, with a primary focus on insurance defence.
- Provide practical and strategic legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, applications, legal opinions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
- Represent clients in procedural matters, motions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Work toward effective and timely resolution of matters through negotiation, mediation, and settlement.
- Prepare files for trial and participate in trial proceedings as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, insurers, and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with the firm’s litigation partners, particularly Jeremy Doucet and Nadia MacPhee.
- Manage files efficiently while maintaining a high standard of client service and professional work.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm’s litigation practice.
What We’re Looking For
- A law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and membership in good standing with the Law Society of New Brunswick.
- Approximately four years of experience practicing litigation; however, more junior and senior candidates will be considered.
- Experience in insurance defence or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area is considered an asset.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple files and competing priorities.
- A practical, solution-oriented approach to resolving client matters.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to providing high-quality legal services.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
