Our well established custom millwork/cabinet shop in Aldergrove is looking for an experienced cabinet and millwork installer to join our team. This individual should be self-motivated, honest, reliable and a dedicated team player.
Duties and responsibilities
- Build and install cabinet and millwork at both residential and commercial client locations
- Knowledge and experience in interpreting and installing cabinetry and millwork based on technical drawings/floor plans
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Determine specifications and calculate requirements on drawings for installation, measure, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining cabinets as needed and using multiple types of levels and fasteners
- Measure job sites, accounting for various site variances in wall and floor levels and relay to the office
- Work at multiple sites throughout Fraser Valley including West Van, North Van and Whistler
- Accurately document work performed, materials used, materials needed, and other relevant information to the shop and the office
- Troubleshoot issues on the jobsite working with the client, shop and office to find a resolution suitable
- Drive the installation van and/or delivery truck to the jobsite and back
- Work independently on various work site/client locations
- Practice knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- Practice good housekeeping discipline on the job and at client’s homes
- Reliable and on time
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications
- 6 + years Carpentry/Woodwork experience preferred
- Related Carpentry/Woodwork installation and production experience – an asset
- Ability to work independently on a job site providing house calls
- Comfortable driving a large sprinter work van and occasionally a 5-ton delivery truck
- Strong attention to detail and quality minded
- Excellent work ethic and attitude
- Good problem solving skills and ability to think quickly on their feet
- Display professional discretion while providing excellent customer service
- Valid BC Drivers license
- Ability to read and communicate fluently in English
- Ability to lift more than 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
- Commitment to safety guidelines and policies
- Able to work independently, with little or no supervisionWe offer:
- (A long weekend every weekend) 4 day work week - Monday to Thursday – 7:00 am to 5:30pm
Starting wage – $28 - $31 / potential increase dependent on experience
After 3 month probation period - employees offered a full Benefits package
