A Class 3 Operator is responsible for safely driving and operating tandem axle vacuum trucks. They work in
various environments, including refineries, industrial sites, marine ports and for environmental emergency
responses. Operators also provide feedback to supervisors regarding customer problems, mechanical problems,
or delivery problems. They will also occasionally take part in mentoring/training others to operate the
equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation: Safely operate vacuum & pressure equipment, including managing vacuum pumps,
hoses, booms, and valves.
Fluid Handling: Load, transport, and unload non-hazardous and hazardous materials, such as fuel oils, drilling
fluids, sludge, sewage, and wastewater.
Equipment Maintenance & Safety: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, conduct routine maintenance
(e.g., greasing, fluid checks, top-up spill & first aid supplies), and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
Labor-Intensive Tasks: Perform manual labor such as dragging hoses, pressure cleaning tanks, working in
confined space, climbing, crouching and kneeling.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, legible, and timely documentation, including driver logs (ELD), load
manifests, TDG, OHS, work orders and ensure compliance with applicable Acts and regulations.
Communication: Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in
written form. Professionally represent the company and communicate with site dispatch and supervisors.
Requirements
- A valid Class 3 license, manual transmission, air brake
- Ability to work evening shift, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
- Pass pre-employment D&A testing
- Manual dexterity, ability to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs hoses required.
- Out of town, rotation and overtime work as required.

- Often requires working long hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call for emergency response
situations. On call schedule in effect on a weekly basis.
