Position:
ESS is seeking a Janitor / Camp Cleaner to join our team at a mining exploration project near La Loche, Saskatchewan. This position is available immediately and is expected to continue through the end of September.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Primary duties include:
- Cleaning the Hub kitchen, bathrooms, dining area, media trailer, and common areas
- Cleaning the laydown area bathroom and laundry facilities
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing assigned areas
- Emptying garbage and recycling bins
- Restocking washrooms and common areas with required supplies
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout camp facilities
- Assisting with additional cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed by the Site Superintendent
- Following all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
Transportation to and from the site will be provided where applicable.
Schedule:
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
- 8-hour shifts
- Start date: ASAP
- Project expected to run through the end of September
Qualifications:
- Previous janitorial, housekeeping, camp, industrial, or commercial cleaning experience is considered an asset but is not required
- Must be dependable with excellent attendance and consistently arrive to work on time and fit for duty
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to work
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing positively as part of a team
- Comfortable working and living in a remote camp environment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful workplace
- Must successfully complete any required pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol testing if required
Camp Information:
- This is a dry camp with zero tolerance for the possession or consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Employees are expected to report to every shift fit for duty and ready to work safely and professionally.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be located in or near La Loche, Saskatchewan (preferred)
- Candidates from Fort McMurray, Alberta, and surrounding communities are also encouraged to apply
- Have previous experience working in camp, industrial, commercial, or institutional cleaning environments
- Be reliable, self-motivated, and take pride in maintaining a clean and organized workplace
Compensation:
The rate of pay for this position is $250-$300 per day based on an 8-hour shift. Starting pay will be determined based on experience, reliability, and overall fit for the role.
