Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist specializing in Boring Mill operations to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain large-scale CNC boring mills to produce precise, high-quality components according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with blueprint reading and machining processes. Duties
- Set up and operate CNC boring mills, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Program CNC machines utilizing Fanuc controls, optimizing machining parameters for efficiency and precision.
- Perform routine inspections of machined parts using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools to verify dimensions.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to maintain quality standards during production runs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot mechanical or electronic issues promptly.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve machining processes following lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist with assembly, welding, or other related tasks as required for project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Operate forklifts and power tools safely when handling materials or components.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC boring mills or similar large-scale CNC machining equipment.
- Proficiency with Fanuc controls and CNC programming skills.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of machine tools, tooling setups, and machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models accurately.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAD software, and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Experience with machining tools such as calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
