Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver’s license, experience with commercial driving, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. Candidates with skills in moving, heavy deliveries or similar physical labour role, or freight handling will be highly valued. Pay is based on experience and performance is reviewed and could lead to an increase.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as hand trucks
- Ensure accurate delivery of products according to schedules and customer requirements
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to maintain safety standards
- Maintain proper documentation for deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or issues
- Work a flexible schedule (weekdays, weekends, possible longer hours)
- Arrive to work on-time
- Use a delivery app to confirm deliveries
- Follow instructions
- Work as a member of a team
- Deliver items safely into homes without damage
- Complies to safety regulations
- Ability to resolve conflicts
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during operations
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Pass a background check
- Experience in commercial driving preferred (3 ton, 5 ton)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift heavy items and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism when interacting with clients and team members
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment or managing freight is desirable
- Strong communication in English, French is an asset
- Smart phone with data
