Last Door Recovery Society is a distinguished leader in fostering a community that inspires recovery. Our mission is to provide therapeutic environments where individuals and families dealing with addiction issues can develop the necessary skills to live free from dependency. We offer long-term bed-based and outpatient treatment for men and women aged 19 and over, utilizing a Social Model treatment modality. Position Overview:
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations, ensuring the provision of nutritious, healthy, and high-quality meals for residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers. This role is pivotal in maintaining safety and compliance with employment laws, developing food programs, and managing daily kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of cooking experience, with a strong understanding of food quality, production, sanitation, and cost controls.
- Proficiency in serving food, sanitation principles, and safe food handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
- Effective communication skills for clear interactions with staff and residents.
- Minimum 1 year of managing kitchen staff
- Flexibility and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse environment.
- Teamwork skills, fostering a cooperative kitchen environment.
- Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to multitask.
- Problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
- Lived experience in recovery is considered an asset.
- Must have Food Safe
- Must successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 9-5; hours may vary based on program needs.
