NSB Omega is searching for a Facilities Engineer for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.
Assignment Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Engineer / Facilities Specialist to support the design, operation, optimization, and maintenance of oil and gas production and processing facilities. This office-based role will work closely with operations, maintenance, production, and project teams to ensure facilities are safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise for facility performance, capital projects, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives across our oil and gas assets.
Provide engineering and technical support for oil and gas production, processing, and facility operations.
Monitor facility performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Support the design, modification, and optimization of production facilities, pipelines, compression systems, and processing equipment.
Develop engineering studies, technical evaluations, and recommendations for facility improvement projects.
Coordinate and support capital projects from concept development through execution and commissioning.
Review process data, equipment performance, and operational trends to identify and resolve issues.
Assist with equipment troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and corrective action planning.
Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, environmental requirements, and safety procedures.
Prepare engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors to deliver facility projects and operational improvements.
Participate in risk assessments, hazard reviews, and management of change (MOC) processes.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
3–10 years of experience in oil and gas facilities engineering, operations engineering, or project engineering.
Knowledge of upstream oil and gas production facilities and associated equipment.
Understanding of process systems including separation, compression, pumping, dehydration, storage, and pipeline operations.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and engineering software tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration.
Experience with facility design standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with process simulation software, hydraulic modeling tools, or facility design applications.
Experience supporting brownfield modifications and capital projects.
Knowledge of reliability engineering, integrity management, and asset management principles.
Project management experience in oil and gas facilities projects.
