The Opportunity
Step into a leadership-level scientific role where your biology and ecology expertise helps shape land and resource outcomes across Prairies & North. As a Lead Professional, Biology), you’ll guide field-informed assessments, translate complex ecological conditions into practical recommendations, and help clients and communities make better decisions for the landscapes they depend on, balancing environmental, economic, and societal values.
Your Impact
- Lead biological and ecological assessments across grassland, parkland, boreal, upland, riparian, wetland, and stream environments.
- Develop clear, practical land and resource management recommendations grounded in field data and applied science.
- Deliver and support multi‑year programs and projects, including infrastructure and stewardship initiatives.
- Facilitate stakeholder, partner, and expert workshops to inform management planning and decision‑making.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with land managers, Indigenous communities, regulators, and industry partners.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to a wide range of technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Mentor and support team members by sharing technical expertise, field best practices, and professional guidance.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Extensive experience identifying native and non‑native plant species in grassland and forested ecosystems.
- Strong background assessing upland, riparian, wetland, and aquatic ecosystems and interpreting ecological condition.
- Proven experience designing and delivering sustainable land and resource management programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, regulation, and policy related to natural resource and rangeland management in western and northern Canada.
- Experience leading projects, programs, or teams, including planning, budgeting, delivery, and reporting.
- Confidence presenting technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Willingness and ability to conduct field work and travel as required; valid driver’s license required.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $139,900
MB & ON: $95,000 - $132,600
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,000 - $126,700
