OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our transportation team and ensure full compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. This role is essential in maintaining safe fleet operations, supporting drivers, and improving overall compliance performance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of trucking regulations and a proactive approach to safety and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular audits of driver logs, HOS, DVIRs, and safety records
- Ensure compliance with MTO, DOT & FMCSA regulations
- Handle roadside inspections, violations, and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of audits, incidents, and compliance activities
- Maintained accurate vehicle maintenance records, inspection reports, repair logs, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Monitor ELD systems (e.g., Samsara) for violations and driver behavior
- Stay updated on transportation laws, regulations, and industry best practices
- Assist in developing safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in transportation safety/compliance preferred
- Strong knowledge of trucking regulations (Canada & US)
- Experience with log audits, HOS, and ELD systems
- Familiar with compliance audits, safety ratings, and inspections
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication skills for driver coordination and training
