Personal Support Worker (PSW) / Attendant Care
Job Description
We are seeking reliable, punctual, and compassionate Attendants/PSWs to join a private home care team for an individual with Multiple Sclerosis. You will be employed directly by the individual (Self-Manager) through Ontario’s Direct Funding Program.
Shift Options Available
- Morning Assistance (1.5 hours daily)
- Lunch Assistance (1 hour daily)
- Evening Assistance (1 hours daily)
- Night Time Assistance (1 hour daily)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide mobility assistance including transferring, lifting, and positioning.
- Assist with personal hygiene (showering, bathing, grooming, dressing).
- Help with routine exercises and medication reminders.
- Light housekeeping related to care (meal prep, dishwashing, laundry, keeping care areas tidy).
- Run occasional errands (essential shopping, banking, or medical escorts).
Job Requirements
- Must be physically capable of handling transfers and lifting safely (training on specific equipment will be provided).
- Absolute punctuality, reliability, and dependability are essential.
- Good communication and the ability to follow precise instructions (Employer speaks slowly and uses email/text communication heavily).
- Must sign a confidentiality agreement and be legally entitled to work in Canada (Valid SIN required).
- Valid G license
