Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Two years of Addictions and/or Mental Health experience within the last 3 years. 2 years' experience in emergency or acute in-patient unit. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Understanding of CIWA and COWS/management of acute substance withdrawal. Experience in various risk assessments (i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, VAST, Domestic Violence screening).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. Connect Care trained. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an Addiction and/or Mental Health site or emergency may be considered.
