Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries Inc is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Dental Hygiene Curriculum Developer/Designer to create engaging, comprehensive, and effective educational content for dental hygiene and other dental programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in instructional design, content development, and e-learning technologies to enhance training and educational experiences for students and faculty. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to develop curriculum materials that meet accreditation standards and industry best practices, ensuring learners gain practical skills and theoretical knowledge essential for success in dental hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design comprehensive dental hygiene curricula aligned with current industry standards and educational best practices.
- Create engaging multimedia instructional materials.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of curriculum components while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies and interactive elements to enhance learner engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and stakeholders to gather input and validate content accuracy.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in existing curricula and recommend improvements or new content areas.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, making iterative improvements as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in instructional design, e-learning technology, and dental hygiene education to continuously improve curriculum offerings.
Skills
- Proven experience in content development, instructional design, and curriculum creation within healthcare or dental education fields.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Adobe Captivate for creating interactive e-learning modules.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of training & development principles tailored to adult learners in clinical settings.
- Excellent writing skills for creating clear, concise instructional materials and assessments.
- Classroom experience or teaching background in dental hygiene or related health sciences is highly desirable but not necessary.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, subject matter experts, and technical teams.
- Presentation skills to effectively demonstrate curriculum components during training sessions or stakeholder meetings.
