Discover Vision Therapy is looking for a rehab assistant to work with both children and adults.
A vision therapist works one-on-one with people to overcome vision problems including those related to learning disabilities, lazy eye and traumatic brain injuries. An ideal vision therapist is highly motivated to help others be more and achieve more. The therapist needs to be organized, detail orientated and creative.

Responsibilities
The vision therapist is responsible for planning, preparation and conducting vision therapy sessions with guidance from a licensed optometrist. The therapist will work collaboratively with the lead therapist and optometrist to succeed in both their duties and their goals. The therapist will help to build a culture of momentum that guides and empowers individuals to make positive movement toward achieving their potential. Saturdays and a few evenings per week are required.
- Conduct vision therapy sessions and rehabilitation exercises tailored to patient needs
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and materials are ready for patient appointments
- Support patients by providing instructions on exercises and treatment plans, ensuring understanding and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and infection control standards and assist with light housekeeping to keep clinic clean
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and address any questions or concerns professionally
Qualifications
A coaching, healthcare, rehab assistant, education or child development background is beneficial, but not necessary. We would prefer someone who has at least 2 years of post-secondary education or a bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
Initial training will be on-the-job. Further formal training opportunities will be available in the future. The candidate must be willing to take initiative with self-directed learning with the resources provided.
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care procedures
- Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with patients and team members
- Certification or training in vision therapy or related fields is a plus but not mandatory
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
