Program & Team Manager
Staff Leadership & Children’s Experience
COOKSMARTMississauga, Ontario
$22–$28 per hour, based on experiencePart-time, year-roundApproximately 15–30 hours per week, with increased hours during camps and busy programming periods
Help lead the people behind the program
COOKSMART’s programs are built around people: instructors who are prepared and supported, and children who feel welcomed, encouraged and excited to participate.
We’re looking for a Program & Team Manager who can help our staff do their best work while ensuring that every child has a safe, engaging and memorable experience.
This role is for someone who enjoys working with children, understands how to lead a team and can bring structure to a busy, seasonal business. You’ll coordinate staff, support instructors, help prepare programs, manage day-to-day logistics and help maintain the quality of the COOKSMART experience.
About COOKSMART
COOKSMART provides hands-on cooking, nutrition and food literacy programs for children and youth across the GTA.
Children cook, try new foods, ask questions, work together and build practical life skills in a welcoming environment. We believe children learn best when they are actively involved, encouraged to try new things and given the opportunity to build confidence through real experiences.
Our programming includes school programs, camps, workshops and special events throughout the year.
Many of our staff members return season after season, and some first discovered COOKSMART as campers themselves. We’re continuing to build a strong team around them, with clearer support, training and opportunities to grow.
The role
The Program & Team Manager will be a key point of support for COOKSMART’s instructors and assistants.
You’ll help staff understand what is expected, prepare for their programs and deliver activities confidently. You’ll also coordinate the practical details behind each booking, including staffing, schedules, supplies, locations and communication.
You’ll work closely with our founder while gradually taking greater ownership of staff coordination and program delivery.
We have established programs and a clear teaching philosophy. We’re looking for someone who can follow that foundation consistently while bringing good judgment, useful observations and ideas that help us improve.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll spend time supporting staff, working directly with children and helping programs run well.
