Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing, masonry, and related trades, with the ability to read blueprints and operate various hand and power tools. This role involves working on commercial and residential projects, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. Candidates with experience in rebar installation, carpentry, heavy equipment operation, and restoration are highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, from new constructions to renovation and restoration work.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand trowels, floats, edgers, and other tools to achieve smooth, level finishes.
- Install rebar and formwork according to schematics and blueprints to prepare for concrete pouring.
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely to assist in concrete placement and finishing tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Perform masonry work, including caulking, flooring installation, and restoration tasks as needed.
- Coordinate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to ensure seamless project progress.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished surfaces for consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Assist in concrete form setup, removal, and cleanup after completion of each phase.
- Engage in heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks while maintaining safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in concrete finishing, masonry, or related construction fields.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, blueprints reading, and schematic interpretation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, floats, edgers, as well as power tools like grinders and mixers.
- Experience with rebar installation, carpentry skills for formwork building, welding is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Familiarity with flooring installation, caulking techniques, renovation work, and restoration processes.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or working at heights.
- Construction experience with a focus on quality craftsmanship and safety standards.
