The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of complex construction projects while providing leadership, mentoring and technical support to the Project Management team. This position serves as the senior operational resource within the Project Management department and supports the Project Director by strengthening project execution, improving commercial performance, developing Project Managers and ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule and in accordance with BAT Construction's standards.
The Senior Project Manager is expected to lead by example, proactively identify project risks, resolve complex operational and commercial issues, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of project delivery while aligning with our Core Values: Safety-Driven, Integrity, Flexibility, Quality, and Team Spirit.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support the professional development of Project Managers through regular coaching, project reviews and knowledge sharing.
· Promote accountability, teamwork and collaboration across project teams.
· Support succession planning by developing future Project Managers.
· Foster a positive, respectful and accountable work environment and culture.

· Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently and profitably from award through closeout.
· Monitor project schedules and implement recovery strategies when required.
· Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
· Ensure project documentation remains complete and current.
· Develop and maintain project budgets.
· Monitor and maximize project profitability through effective planning and commercial management.
· Review labour productivity and equipment utilization.
· Support monthly financial review meetings.
· Ensure timely project billings and collections.
· Review contracts prior to project execution.
· Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
· Identify commercial risks.
· Develop mitigation strategies.
· Support claims preparation and dispute resolution.
· Negotiate subcontract agreements and review performance.
· Lead owner meetings.
· Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
· Support Business Development.
· Ensure projects comply with BAT's HSE Management System.
· Ensure hazards are identified, risks assessed and critical controls implemented prior to work commencing.
· Conduct regular project health reviews.
· Develop recovery plans for underperforming projects.
· Support estimating by providing constructability and lessons learned feedback.
· Participate in bid reviews and project reviews, lessons learned and debriefs.
· Recommend process improvements.
· Improve consistency across project delivery.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
· Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
· Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience within heavy civil, mining, industrial or geotechnical construction.
· Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience.
· Demonstrated success managing complex multi-million dollar construction projects.
· Proven experience managing project financial performance.
· Extensive contract administration experience.
· Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Professional Qualifications preferred
· PMP designation.
· Gold Seal Certification.
· Professional Engineering designation.
Technical Knowledge
· Strong understanding of heavy civil, drilling, or geotechnical construction methods.

Pay: $130,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
