Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. Duties
- Properly secure deck loads and dry van loads
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to maintain vehicle operability
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and other required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or damage during loading, transit, and unloading processes
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy trucks
- Prior experience with freight transportation - both in van freight and deck freight - required.
- Skills in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling are advantageous
- Basic automotive repair knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling is essential
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
