Position Overview
Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our coaching team for the 2026–2027 season.
We are hiring for both Lead Coach and Assistant Coach roles. Assignments will be based on experience and program needs, with opportunities to work with swimmers of various ages and ability levels. Some roles may require coaches to be in the water to assist with instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist with scheduled swim practices.
- Provide technical instruction and constructive feedback.
- Help create a positive, safe, and supportive training environment.
- Work collaboratively with swimmers, families, and fellow coaches.
- Attend swim meets and team activities as required.
Qualifications
- NCCP Level 1 (or willingness to complete the required course).
- Experience in aquatics, swimming, coaching, or teaching is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in athlete development.

Position Details
- Lead Coach: $21.00/hour
- Assistant Coach: $17.50/hour
- September to May, with opportunities for employment in June and July based on program needs.
- Typical coaching hours include weekday evenings and occasional weekends for competitions.
