Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting construction materials to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery using a light truck and trailer (NOT A 53' TRAILER). This role requires strong communication skills, ability to operate a light truck with various types of trailers , and can handle heavy lifting. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our project production.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles (light truck with various types of trailers) to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling and safe securing of items during transit.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and suppliers regarding delivery times and any potential issues.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns during deliveries.
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in yard/compound operations as needed, including inventory management and organization. Attention to detail is required
- Utilize forklifts or other small pieces of machinery for loading and unloading heavy items when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and delivery confirmations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a commercial driving using a light truck and various kinds of trailers is required.
- Familiarity with compound/yard operations, including experience with heavy lifting and moving goods.
- Strong communication and organization skills are essential for effective interaction with suppliers and team members.
- Experience operating forklifts is preferred.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials - sitting for long periods while driving will be required
- A valid driver's license and trailer endorsement with a clean driving record is required.
