Job Description:
Eastern Welding is seeking a dedicated and reliable General Labourer/Trades Helper to join our dynamic team in the structural steel and welding industry. The successful candidate will assist skilled tradespeople in the day-to-day operations of our welding and steel fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:
- Grouting of structural items on construction worksites.
- Assist welders and steel fabricators with setup and preparation of materials for welding and construction projects.
- Handle, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment safely on-site.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including site cleanup, equipment maintenance, and waste disposal.
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and prepping steel and other materials for welding.
- Work in adherence to company safe work practices and applicable legislation.
- Support in assembling and disassembling scaffolding, rigs, and other temporary structures.
- Perform any other general labor tasks as required to support the team.
- Operate power tools/hand tools such as grinders, saws, etc.
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery such as scissor lift, forklift, zoom boom, etc.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in construction or manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Previous experience in operating heavy equipment.
- Previous experience in hoisting and rigging.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Valid drivers license.

Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with minimum three years of experience in a construction, plant, or farm setting
- Construction experience in civil, carpentry, structural or mechanical an asset.
- Hoisting and rigging experience (preferred)
- WHMIS 2015
