Job Summary
We are a vibrant South Indian restaurant seeking a passionate, full-time cook with 1 to 2 years of experience in South Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of traditional South Indian dishes, from dosa and idli to sambar and biryani. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional South Indian dishes according to authentic recipes.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Assist with menu development and experimentation with new South Indian flavors.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service during peak hours.
- Help with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal presentation
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety regulations
- Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Experience in the food industry or kitchen environment is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary
