Status
Position Summary
Library Technicians work independently to maintain the school library and work collaboratively with teachers to support programming.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

Operate the automated library system for all circulation, inventory, and resource management functions.
- Source and catalogue materials to ensure the collections remain current, organized, and easily accessible.
- Oversee daily circulation and maintain the physical collection through regular repairing, organizing, and weeding of materials.
- Provide reference and resource assistance to staff and students, including one-on-one or small group support.
- Oversee access to digital libraries, online databases, and e-book platforms, assisting staff and students with troubleshooting and digital literacy.
- Coordinate promotional displays and literacy events, such as book fairs, to encourage student engagement with reading and library programming.
Maintain a safe, positive and flexible learning environment that supports student research, study, and collaboration.

Education/Qualifications

a diploma in Library and Information Technology

a minimum of one year related experience preferably in a school environment

strong technical abilities using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and automated library systems

excellent communication and collaborative skills
Rate of Pay
$23.58 - $25.34 per hour
Nature of Work
-
hourly, on-call work - up to 7 hours per day, Monday – Friday

long term part-time and full-time assignments
- benefits eligibility for long term assignments extending beyond 25 days
