This position provides an exciting opportunity to join the FNHC Secretariat and lead an advisory team that support’s the FNHC’s governance and advocacy work; particularly, the implementation of the 10-Year Strategy on the Social Determinants of Health and supporting the evolution the FNHC within the BC First Nations Health Governance structure.
Title: Senior Lead, Advisory Team, FNHC Secretariat
Salary: $102,397 - $114,444 - $138,538 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Hybrid – open to all of BC with local office Remote will be considered upon discussion with Supervisor.
Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.
About the role
As the Senior Lead, Advisory Team, in the FNHC Secretariat, you will report to the Executive Director and provide leadership in the development, analysis, communication and implementation of the FNHC’s priorities and the engagement cycle of work. You will oversee a team of advisors and liaise with internal and external partners.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Education & Occupational Certification, Experience (REQUIRED)

University Degree in Public Health, Political or Social Science, Health or Public Administration, First Nations Governance, Leadership or other related fields of study, plus 6 to 8 years of related advanced experience in senior policy, strategist, or management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Significant policy and strategy development and analysis experience

Experience in working with First Nations

Awareness - Thorough knowledge of the current First Nations health governance landscape in BC and the critical issues and opportunities for BC First Nations health.

Analysis – Synthesizes assesses and analyzes large volumes of information and applies strategic and tactical thinking, including the ability to understand multiple perspectives, to develop proposed frameworks, approaches, recommendations with minimal supervision.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
