We're currently looking for a Yard Labourer for a temporary contract of at least 8 weeks with a well-established manufacturing company in Welland, ON.
Start Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Wage: $24.10/hour
Overtime: May be required depending on operational needs and is paid after 40 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties throughout the yard and production areas.
- Assist with loading, unloading, moving, organizing, and storing pipe and other materials.
- Help guide and position materials safely during yard operations.
- Package materials for shipping and storage using lumber, racks, stacking, and strapping.
- Tally and verify pipe for shipping and receiving purposes.
- Inspect materials for visible damage and report any concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Use RF equipment to complete inventory transactions and cycle counts as required.
- Follow production schedules and assist with maintaining an efficient flow of materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and work area.
- Assist with equipment and machinery cleaning as required.
- Communicate production, material, or equipment concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and health and safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement and workplace problem-solving initiatives.
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned, provided appropriate training has been completed.
Job Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous general labour, manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or yard experience is an asset.
- No forklift licence or forklift experience is required.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical work and frequent heavy lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around moving equipment and materials.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to the Welland worksite.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
Required PPE
- CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots.
