Plainsman is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is responsible for ensuring manufactured parts meet company and customer quality requirements through inspection, documentation, and adherence to established quality standards.

Role Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspections of manufactured parts and components
- Measure parts using calibrated precision instruments and maintain inspection equipment during use
- Review engineering drawings, traveler documents, and customer specifications to ensure quality requirements are met
- Document inspection results and ensure compliance with company quality standards
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Ensure proper disposition of non-conforming materials prior to release
- Support calibration and traceability of measuring instruments and inspection equipment
- Participate in quality audits, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Complete required quality documentation including inspection reports and tracking forms
- Follow all company quality, safety, and environmental procedures
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to inspections and compliance
- Communicate findings clearly with production and supervisory teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
Role Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a quality control or inspection role in a manufacturing environment
- Highschool diploma/GED or equivalent
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems is considered an asset
- Ability to identify and interpret dimensional requirements and tolerances
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with overhead crane operation is required or willingness to be trained
- Forklift and/or narrow aisle reach truck certification is considered an asset
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
